The short version

  • All four Mosaic tiers, plus one companion, get complimentary space-available BlueFirst upgrades.
  • Upgrades begin when the first BlueFirst-equipped aircraft arrives; Main Base and EvenMore Base fares are excluded.
  • Move to Mint becomes Premium Upgrade Certificates, usable for BlueFirst or Mint.
  • Perks You Pick changes on February 1, 2027; retired perks can be used through January 31, 2027.
  • Mosaic tile thresholds stay at 50, 100, 150 and 250.

JetBlue is giving all four Mosaic tiers complimentary, space-available upgrades to BlueFirst, its new domestic first class. A companion on the same reservation can upgrade too. Most of the other TrueBlue changes take effect February 1, 2027, but upgrades start as soon as the first BlueFirst-equipped plane arrives, not on a fixed date.

JetBlue announced the changes on October 22, 2026. Mosaic tile thresholds are not changing.

What changes

BlueFirst upgrades for every Mosaic member

Mosaic members and one companion on the same reservation go on the upgrade list automatically at check-in. You don't have to request it. Upgrades clear as departure gets closer, in priority order. The Points Guy reports the order starts with Mosaic 4 and works down to Mosaic 1.

The limits:

  • Main Base and EvenMore Base fares are not eligible.
  • Complimentary upgrades are for BlueFirst only, not Mint.
  • BlueFirst is not on every plane yet. The Points Guy reports installation starts in December.

Premium Upgrade Certificates replace Move to Mint

The old Move to Mint certificates are now Premium Upgrade Certificates. You can use them for a confirmed upgrade to BlueFirst or Mint, subject to availability. JetBlue says the number you need depends on cabin and flight distance. Mosaic 3 and 4 still get them as a standard perk, and Mosaic 2 members can pick one through Perks You Pick from February 1, 2027.

Perks You Pick gets a new menu

From February 1, 2027 you can choose the same perk again at later milestones. You have 60 days after reaching a milestone to choose, or the pick expires.

Mosaic 4 (250)30,000head start of 30Lounge pass, upgrade certificate, gift Mosaic 3 status, gift a year of BlueHouse

Some perks go away: Mint Suite Priority, a third-party travel club membership, IHG status and the pet fee waiver as a pick. The pet fee waiver becomes a standard perk from Mosaic 2. You can still choose and use the retired perks through January 31, 2027.

Who this affects

Mosaic 1 and 2 members gain the most. They had no regular route into a premium cabin, and now they get free space-available upgrades on BlueFirst flights. Members who used Perks You Pick for hotel status or Mint seat priority lose those options.

What to do now

  1. Use retired perks before January 31, 2027. If you were planning to pick IHG status or a pet fee waiver, do it now.
  2. Book eligible fares. Main Base and EvenMore Base won't get upgrades, so the cheapest fare can cost you a BlueFirst seat.
  3. Check the aircraft. Until the rollout finishes, look at your flight's seat map for a BlueFirst cabin before you count on an upgrade.
  4. Set a reminder for the 60-day pick window after each milestone.

Bottom line

This is a real improvement, which is rare in loyalty news. Every Mosaic member gets a shot at a free first-class seat. How much it's worth depends on how fast BlueFirst goes onto the fleet and how full those cabins are. In the meantime, use any perks that are being retired before January 31, 2027.
